Participation in the Bucharest Architecture Annual Expo 2012

The tube shelf model was launched in public spaces and exhibited in 2012 at several profile events, such as the Architecture Biennial and ROCAD. TUBATECT objects are often used or invited as stands at various exhibitions to date.

However, the first time we went out into the community with the objects through which we recycle waste from our own activities was during the 2012 Architecture Annual, under the general theme of Eco-Architecture, where we exhibited 2 panels featuring the tube shelves from the previous year in the Design section.

Also on this occasion, I began to sketch – after the practical stage, which originated from the need and desire to experiment – the theoretical concept, namely a set of design principles and ecological ethics, based on which the entire range of objects that we now offer was later developed.

Thus, the description of our proposal was as follows: \”A piece of furniture resulting from the activity of our plotting center, in the spirit of the simple idea of not throwing anything away, of reusing creatively.

RE-USE | RE-CREATE | RE-MAKE | RE-CYCLE | RE-THINK
DUO STUDIO Proposal

As a first experiment, we chose the furniture objects that were needed in our own spaces. OBJECTS
FOR US, MADE BY US, WITH OUR OWN WASTE MATERIALS. The simple module of the
cardboard tube allows for a wide range of furniture objects – from overhead shelves to desk and table supports, or to seating. Reusing used materials has become a priority within our design concepts. ECO-ARCHITECTURE is not just a trend.

It must be the ethical, efficient and realistic response of the architect/designer, a community and society to contemporary reality. \”ANYTHING (WASTE) CAN BE REUSED.” .
