HUB UAUIM-BUSINESS 2023: Project Summary

HUB UAUIM-BUSINESS 2023 (Acronym: HUB 2023) is the third consecutive edition of the UAUIM entrepreneurship program. It is designed for students, doctoral candidates, and graduates (2018-2022) to support entrepreneurial initiatives in architecture and urban planning.+2

  • Financing: Financed by the National Council for Higher Education Financing (CNFIS) through the Institutional Development Fund (FDI) 2023.
  • Strategic Domain: D4-SAS – Supporting the activities of Student Entrepreneurial Societies (SAS) within universities.
  • Contract Code: CNFIS-FDI-2023-F-0700.
  • Implementation Team: Led by Project Director Cercet. st. dr. arh. Ionuț-Adrian Ibric.+1

Main Objective

The project’s goal is to ensure the development of UAUIM’s institutional capacity to support entrepreneurial initiatives by its members and graduates. This is achieved by amplifying the H.U.B. program for training, competence development, and increasing practical experience in entrepreneurship.+1

Key Objectives

  • Competence Development (OS1): Developing entrepreneurial skills for students and graduates through lectures with successful entrepreneurs, workshops, mentoring, and company visits.
  • Business Initiative Support (OS2): Supporting start-up ideas and business initiatives through workshops dedicated to writing applications for specific types of entrepreneurship (cultural, creative services).
  • Sustainable Program Development (OS3): Training staff and students in writing public funding projects, developing SAS regulations/procedures, and equipping university spaces dedicated to SAS activities.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

  • Participation: A total of 135 participants attended the HUB 2023 lectures (exceeding the target of 100).
  • Educational Resources: 4 volumes of Entrepreneurship courses were drafted.
  • Institutional Framework: A framework document for HUB UAUIM BUSINESS as a Student Entrepreneurial Society (SAS) was created.
  • Funding Success: One application submitted by trained doctoral students won 3rd place in the FCSU UAUIM 2023 competition.

    • YouTube Playlist “Entrepreneurs in Architecture” featuring interviews with staff/entrepreneurs.
  • Equipment: Acquisition of a 4K camera (GoPro) and a gimbal to upgrade the HUB’s media capabilities.
  • Communication: 4 Newsletters regarding entrepreneurial opportunities and Artificial Intelligence.+1
